Building Self-Esteem
Self-esteem and the right to be happy.
Learn to accept yourself
Through self-acceptance, we can increase our self-esteem.
When we value ourselves, we’re practising self-acceptance. When we take time out to tend to our own needs we are exercising self-acceptance. Self-acceptance is about taking responsibility for ourselves, and this means taking control of your existence, and happiness by performing those tasks which build up our sense of self. Self- acceptance is often achieved through mindfulness meditation and self-compassion practices.
Stand Up for yourself
Live with purpose and integrity
Without purpose and direction, we can find ourselves flailing.
It is important to have goals, to monitor progress and take responsibility for achieving them through dedicated and inspired actions. Actions that feel fulfilling and are in alignment with our values and ethics create a sense of integrity, which is the ability to align our dreams and our words with our actions.
Surround yourself with people who build you up.
Techniques you can use to develop high self-esteem:
-
Self-acceptance – You can build your ability to accept yourself through affirmation exercises including mirror work. Stand in front of the mirror every morning and repeat the line “I accept myself”
-
Assert yourself – Next time you disagree with someone who’s opinion conflicts with your values and beliefs calmly tell them that you simply disagree. There’s no need to be drawn into a debate about why (unless you’re up for one).
-
Live your purpose – Consider a way in which you can be of service to the world and take one action to follow though on that.
-
Silence your critics – Are there people in your life who are consistently critical of your ideas? Try sharing your dreams with someone who is supportive of you and keep them to yourself when around critics.
Kinesiology can help you build self-esteem.
Kinesiology in combination with Counselling, Dreamwork, Yoga and Vibrational medicine practices can help you to soften the inner critic, boost your self-esteem, connect you to your purpose and balance body and mind.
Suggested treatment plan.
I recommend:
- An initial 90-minute kinesiology consultation followed by 3 – 5 standard consultations 1 -2 weeks apart.
- Further follow-up standard consultations should be spaced between 2 -4 weeks apart or booked as needed.
